The Nordic Institute of Asian Studies (NIAS) is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers and the 26 collaborating institutions that comprise the Nordic NIAS Council. Through library outreach, publications, and both research support and scholarly activities by our own staff and associates, NIAS works to foster scholarly communication and production on topics of mutual interest to Asia and the Nordic region.
NIAS Press is a scholarly press specializing in publishing innovative research on modern Asia. Although focused mainly on the social sciences and history, particularly research dealing with contemporary Southeast Asia and East Asia, the Press is open to relevant and focused, quality publications in any field of Asian studies. Based in Copenhagen, NIAS Press is a globally focused publisher with authors from every continent. Our books are available throughout the world.
